Rugby en Exeter con Patricia García
Patricia García Rodríguez, jugadora de la selección española de rugby y del Exeter Chief, equipo de la Premiership inglesa ha dado un paso más con su ONG ‘Rugby Libre’ y la promoción de los valores del deporte a través del documental “La Huella”. Un metraje de 35 minutos rodado en Chile en 2019 recorriendo durante 16 días cárceles de mujeres, centros de menores y barrios desfavorecidos y donde conocemos historias impactantes de sus protagonistas. El rugby llegó a Randy, Mitzi, Érika, Guilllermo y otra gente con problemas y gracias a él produjo catársis en sus vidas. Pudieron hacer frente al bulling, salir de las drogas, encontraron otra familia y ganar en autoconfianza.
Respeto, empatía, resiliencia, solidaridad, responsabilidad y lucha son algunas de las palabras clave que podemos encontrar en las historias que narra el documental. Para Patricia, el rugby puede cambiar el mundo, el ejemplo es Nelson Mandela que lo hizo en Sudáfrica en la época del apartheid y consiguió unir a la dividida población sudafricana. “El poder devolver a la sociedad, todo lo que el deporte le ha dado” es el objetivo de la ONG ‘Rugby Libre’ que capitanea Patricia Rodríguez. Han estado en Marruecos y 2 veces en Chile, pero tienen más proyectos en mente para promocionar el rugby y sus valores como medio de educación social y de expresión de libertad individual.

Exeter Northcott Theatre

Red Panda, 29 Gandy Street
Red Panda is the brainchild of Natalie and James, who are on a quest to make Asian street food healthier. The result is a menu that is nutrient-packed and super delicious.
We achieve this by using seasonal, locally available produce. Each meal contains three salads, with an option to add kimchi for gut health. Heritage recipes have been refined to deliver light, fresh authentic Asian flavours, garnished with our own sauces and condiments made in our farm kitchen in Devon.

Queen Street
La primera de las calles principales del centro de la ciudad. Empezando por el principio, en el Farmer’s Inn, donde, en mi segundo año de universidad me pasaba todos los jueves participando en el concurso del pub con mi grupo de amigos, la calle te lleva a Gandy Street, el Guildhall y High Street. Las describiré todas al detalle más adelante.
Puntos destacados de esta calle: el Urban Underground, un bar de cócteles situado en la parte de abajo de un restaurante de comida rápida. Son muy conocidos por servir cócteles en teteras y peceras, y merece la pena probar los dos. Mi favorito es el Urban Zombiekiller; cuesta 10 £ (12 €), y es la bebida más fuerte que encontrarás en Exeter. Contiene tequila, ron, absenta, ron, más ron y zumo de maracuyá. También un poco de canela espolvoreada a la que le prenden fuego. Puedes rebajarlo un poco si os lo repartís entre dos personas, cosa que recomiendo.
